You would wake up to a meal of some blackberries, sun- dried raisins and green lentils. A swig of milk would also be in order so that you can stay fresh in the hot African sun. since its the summer you will wear linen kilt or dress and not wool so that you can stay cool. you have some chores so you will probably help your mother milk the cows and pick berries so that they can be ground into wine. you will also pluck some chickens in preparation for tonights meal. you will be entertaining family and friends tonight for the celebration of The Festival of Anket, the rising of the nile, the arrival of Hapi, the Nile God. egyptians believes the nile to be a physical manifestation of hapi and when it rose they new that they would receive lots of resources like fish. now unfortunately for you the Festival has fallen on a school day so you don't get to relax and enjoy your day until later tonight. on your way to school you see a slaved getting whipped. you figure that he's getting what he deserved and that he should have listened to his masters wishes and followed directions. at school you are learning numbers & hieroglyphics today. while you find them difficult you know that if you continue to practice you will get better at them. as you return home you run into a friend who will be at your home later today to celebrate the arrival of hapi. she challenged you to a game of senet later on and made the wager ten raisins. you both race home to help your parents prepare for tonight. when the party finally begins you realize you've had a great turn out. so many people were able to make it. during the party you had, boiled fish, baked chicken, duck eggs, leeks, green beans, berries, and wine. you ended up losing that game of senet to your friend, but you still had a great time.
